BCU

Battle Creek Unlimited is the economic Development organization that works with the City of Battle Creek to transform and diversify the Battle Creek economy, in part through developing Fort Custer Industrial Park. BC Ventures is the group within Battle Creek Unlimited that focuses on accelerating development of technology businesses and is Battle Creek’s start up company resource. BC Ventures’ expertise resides in computer software and services, aviation, e-learning and nutrition. From Funding sources to Federal, State and Local resources, BC Ventures helps new and existing companies achieve their business goals.

MIHSC

The Michigan Homeland Security Consortium (MIHSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to driving the growth of the Homeland Security Industry in the State of Michigan. MIHSC serves a targeted membership of Michigan-based developers and manufacturers of products and technologies specific to Homeland Security, as well as those companies, universities, and organizations affiliated with the industry. We are committed to helping our communities through our association and the Michigan Homeland Security Resource Fund. The Consortium’s mission is to drive the development and growth of the Homeland Security Industry within the State of Michigan, placing it at the forefront of the State’s economic revitalization. Its vision is for the Homeland Security Industry to become a leading force in the growth of Michigan's economy, and to project that strength into the national and global Security Industry.

MI-SBTDC

The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center™ (MI-SBTDCTM) enhances Michigan's economic well-being by providing counseling, training, research and advocacy for new ventures, existing small businesses and innovative technology companies. With offices statewide, the MI-SBTDC positively impacts the economy by strengthening existing companies, creating new jobs, retaining existing jobs, and assisting companies in defining their path to success. The State Headquarters, located at Grand Valley State University, supports 12 regional offices and over 30 satellite offices, each providing counseling and training to small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the 83 counties in Michigan through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Michigan Pre-Seed Investment Fund.

The Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund supports high-tech start-up companies as they near commercial viability by providing access to early-stage capital to accelerate company development. Supported by a consortium of Michigan SmartZones, these funds will extend the personal investment of entrepreneurs during the critical stage when they are developing their businesses to the point of readiness for outside investment. The fund targets companies throughout the state that are creating the newest technologies in the following competitive areas: Advanced automotive manufacturing and materials, alternative energy, homeland security and defense, and life sciences.
